Hey guys-I am coming back to this topic again. I have a chance to pick up a clean, slightly used Lincoln AC 225 with extra stuff for $150. I should do this
if I ever want to get into welding, right?

Mike offered welding lessons, but Widow is a lot closer. Are you willing to help a brother learn the basics, Widow?

Thanks!

I welded once about 30 years ago - at my uncle's shop. I was prolly 10-11 yrs. old. He gave me some scrap iron and a helmet and told me to try to write my
name with a stick welder. I intend to get a welder and learn some day. Sure would be useful for alot of things.

I did pick up a belt/disc sander for $15 and a bandsaw for $50 at garage sale this weekend. Someday I hope to find a similar steal on a welder.

I did some welding once, almost 20 years ago. My wife was in engineering school and was working an a project involving TIG welding 5056 aluminum and the
relative strength of the welds, etc. I snuck into the lab one day and played around. That's it. I would just like to be able to fix and reinforce stuff I
break or could "improve" with a little judicious welding.

Thanks for the advice. It's in the garage now. I'll get ahold of you later, Widow.
