I have been practicing my butt off with the diaphram and slate calls. The HS Strut Glass Witch that I have is very easy to use and once I learned about conditioning, I got it sounding pretty darn good.

The diaprams were another story...:x Extremely diffcult at first and then I picked up a Primos Sonic Dome triple bat cut diaphram. I really started to put it together with this call. Once I got a little more comfortable and finally found out where I needed to put the call in my mouth, I was able to use an HS Strut diaphram call pretty well too.

Well, one of my friends that have been teaching me Turkey hunting stopped by today to "evaluate" my preogress. I thought I was doing OK, but he said he was impressed. He told me that my Cackles, yelps, cutting and purrs were sounding outstanding. He said my clucks needed just a little tuning but overall, I was not going to have any problems calling a bird this year. That made me feel pretty good. I was going to use a slate for most of my calling this year, but I might try and go diaphram for most of it.
