Me, Moss, and Freeloader have had pretty good luck using Coon Puppies in the fall and the fight sounds later in the year. Sometimes we will set up in a small clearing in a woods or along a tree line in a field. We will play the sounds while we shine the tree tops and ground. Or we will slowly walk in the woods or along a woods edge, playing the sound and shining the trees and ground.

I believe that coon are a little easier to call in than Coyotes. They are very curious by nature and I have on many occasions been able to walk up to the tree that the coon is in with it going back in it's den. They also don't see to care about human smell or play the wind as much as other predators do.

We have had great luck during periods of warm weather and very dark nights. Overcast conditions seem to really get the coon going from what I have seen.
