It has been a few years since I had to kill one like that. It was spring thaw, and this mangy thing was staggering down the street in my subdivision, drinking water out of nasty puddles. I herded him to an undeveloped lot and put him down. He was approaching other people and kids and I didn't want to let something bad happen when it was so simple to resolve. Why is it that hunting is cool, but euthanizing feels morbid and sad? Must be because it is not JUST about the kill. The other side just doesn't get it.
