I checked out the new spot this weekend and made 5 sets for beaver. I also checked another area I have in the same area and there is some sign of beaver but not much. The ice is covering most of the creek and it is hard to find any good sign. I knocked a hole in a dam I found to drain some of the water for the landowner. I did not make any sets, at this time. If the weather warms I will go back and see what's shaking.

I pulled my only rat set this morning. I did catch 2 more in it on Saturday morning. As for the beaver, yesterday morning I had a sprung #330 and a pulled snare. I did bust a hole in the dam below where I am trapping and this morning it was patched and the beaver was not happy that I was there. It was slapping the water all the way back to my sets. Maybe he will be in one of them tomorrow. He has the water so deep that it is hard to set and most of the ditch where he is staying is froze over. I may go back down in teh evening this week and try to make a few more sets. I believe there is only one beaver in this section of the ditch but boy did he flood it out. He had 2 dams on this ditch and flooded the farmers corn field. I am suprised they even got the corn out of it. I ran my trapline at 0400 this morning and when I got there I saw quite a few muskrats. I need to set for the rats but I need the beaver first so I can drain the ditch down so I can get the rats.
