Hey bwana, you won't be getting anymore e-mails from King Ditch Rat! I planned on pulling my line in Fish Lake yesterday and to my suprise King Ditch Rat was snared around the neck, floating, frozen in the ice. He lost a frustrating game of cat and mouse. He weighed in at 37 pounds. It is about time. This was the hardest beaver I have had to trap to date. He was very trap shy and there was no sign of him around for about 6 days since I had him in a leg hold. There was a mark on his front foot from the #4 double long spring branding him. It was a cold morning pulling that line. The temp was -4 and the wind chill..., well it was numbing! My buddy caught another rat yesterday. This morning I caught another rat. My buddy and I have a few rat traps and snares out for yotes around the house now. If the temp warms up a bit I am going to set another ditch I have for rats. There has been sightings of a big black yote around the house. My next mission is to catch him/ her.
