Some folks just completely perplex the hell out of me when they talk about personal protection firearms and what they excpect their capapbilities to be. Naitivity and lack of "the right frame of mind" in this field gets more people seriously injured and killed than not wheh a situation occures to where they have to defend themselves with deadly force. I understand not everyone has the opportunity to go through hours of tactical handgun training or stuff like that but the basics should be at the very least be made aware to the average person defending themselves with a firearm. There is a lot more to self defense that just carrying a handgun. Does anyone see anything wrong with the quote below? This was taken from another site.
I have two questions that I would like to ask. the answer to these questions should be something that every person that carrys a firearm should be made aware of.
1. At how many feet does a suspect become and pose a serious threat at attacking you if your firearm is not pulled and pointed at the suspect?
2. According to one FBI study, if you are attacked and have to defend youself weather it be with a lethal and/ or non lethal weapon, what is the average minimum and maximum distance that this will likely occur?
My point here is not to make anyone that does not know the answers to these questions look stupid. My guess is that our law enforcment membership will probably be the few that can answer these questions correctly. My intention is to really put into a realistic perspective as to what a person faces on the street if a violent attack is about to happen. There is a lot more to self defense that just carrying a handgun.

Do any of you guys carry and if so what are you packing? I keep pretty close tabs on my Browning Hi-Power 40S&W. It's an awesome gun, a little expensive but definately a tackdriver in the right hands.
