Here is a picture of a nice Illinois buck taken by my cousin's 15 year old son taken with a bow over the weekend. This is a little nicer deer than the 10 pointer he got the weekend before.

His middle name is "Hunter" and I believe he is living up to it. His first deer was taken when he was about 7 or 8 I believe, at a distance of about 100 yards I think it was. But understand, this young man went from a baby bottle to deer hunting. His old man wouldn't let him have a pacifier when he was a baby, he made him use a grunt tube. (Well, this might be an exageration, but I do know his dad took him to the tree stand in diapers). When he was nine or ten I've seen him shoot rocks out of the air countless times with a 10-22. His dad and I grew up next door to one another, and if there's anybody that deserves to be called an outdoorsman, it's this young man.
As good a boy as he is, unfortunately humbleness is not one of his characteristics. I won't mention no names, but I do know he called an older fella one night (not only old, but overweight and nearsighted) who he knew was having a terrible time killing coyotes with various hi-powed rifles, and when this unnamed individual answered the phone started the conversation with "Hey Mike" er... uh... I mean "Hey Buddy"........ "guess what I shot this morning with my bow and arrow?"
