It has been a horrible year thus far. I took the first week of trapping season off to do some damage to all the coons I have seen all summer. The temperatures
dropped into the teens and beow, 6-12 inches of snow fell and the winds were atrotious.
Needless to say the coons holed-up, the ponds froze over hard enough to walk on and nothing was moving. I did however catch one coon weighing in at 25
pounds the night the temps plummeted and mother nature took over. I did get a call about a beaver problem and took care of that problem the first night. Oh and
the grinners were moving behind the house.
I am hoping this warmer weather that has started will get the coons moving so I can get a coon line out. I do have a couple rat places and maybe another beaver place I will set later. I just started an 8 day work week so I don't know when I will get more sets out. I have 4 sets out behind the house that have been producing grinners and cats.
By the way. The beavers weighed 40 and 45 pounds.
