Calling areas up to free choice again this year. It might be helpful to pick an area and let others know where you plan to start your hunt. I will be starting on private ground this year. Just bear in mind that there's multiple state areas to hunt less than an hour away. It's only 7000 acres if everybody stays at Roush Lake.
Plan on the following Schedule:
6:00 a.m. Meet at Shelter 1 at the J. Edward Roush Lake Wildlife Area
6:30 Leave to go Calling
12:00 Be at Hillside Shooting Sports Complex (up off of U.S. 24 in Roanoke) for Chili and Dogs
1:00 Rifle shoot
Rifle shoot rules are below. Shooters from the Club will also be invited to participate again.
After that the range is reserved for us for the rest of the day if you would like to stay and shoot. Backstops are provided out to at least 600 yards. (Please stand down when trains come down the tracks along the range.)
2012 Rifle Shoot Rules. We will go over this at the range until everyone understands clearly how this works.
There will be two matches. The Regular Shoot, and five round AR-15/Semi-auto shoot. Entry fee is $10.00 per shooter. $15.00 gets you into both matches.

When the shooter is ready and in position the rangemaster will announce "standby". Wait for the tone. Upon the start tone the shooter will engage the coyote target with a single round.

(scored automatically). The score must be discernible visually
or audibly to the spotters. If it is not, it will not be counted.
The spotters can allow a re-shoot at their discretion, but their rulings of
hit verses miss are final. A miss will receive
a score of zero.
